The men have recently completed 120 White Crosses for a joint venture between the Rotorua District Council and the R.S.A. to commemorate the number of Rotorua men who fell in battle during the 1914-1918 war. These will be on show during the Anzac celebrations next year and for several years to follow. This type of commemoration is being re-enacted throughout NZ so other Menz Shed groups may be contacted or perhaps they could ask their local RSA if they can help with a similar project.
We donated a fair amount of machinery to Howick Menz Shed. This is excess machinery we are lucky enough to have thanks to generous donations received.
We take a group from I.H.C. one morning a week and some men from a local Retirement village and organise them with simple projects, at present they are making trays and breadboards.
Our shed was featured in a Lotto video 15/7/2017.
