MenzShed Kapiti

MenzShed Kapiti commenced operations July 2010 in a 40m2 shed made available by Kapiti Coast District Council.  Since then the Shed has grown, with both members and workshop space.  Workshop space is now about 250m2 but still too small for the 35 to 50 members who regularly come to the Shed. After working our way thru a Resource Consent, we are now about to apply for a Building Consent to build an additional 100m2 of new workshop space, and 130m2  of new toilet, kitchen, meeting and office facilities.

Our Shed is well equipped for woodworking projects as well as quite reasonable metal working facilities. A garden group is also very active landscaping the site with retaining walls and raised garden beds with a good supply of produce being delivered to the local food bank.  Most of the activities undertaken at the Shed are for the local community and community groups.  There is also a small music group who will be looking forward to our new meeting facilities for their weekly jam sessions.

The Shed operates Tuesdays and Thursdays, about 9am to 1.30pm. A warm welcome to all men, and ladies are more than welcome with cakes and scones.

The Shed is located down the drive beside 24 Rangihiroa Street, Waikanae Beach.
